I was searching for a nice place with good food for hubz birthday dinner. I came across this place and it had great reviews so I booked it a few days in advance. The valet situation is a bit weird, we came here in a group and actually parked our car ourselves, the valet was no where. Then he just appeared from somewhere when we were walking in and took the keys, it was a bit random. Anyway, walked in and we were seated promptly. For drinks we all got cocktails, Autumn Leaves, Frankly My Dear and a Martini. I’d have to say the Autumn Leaves I got was the best, nice gin mixed cocktail. For starters we got the Fried Goats Cheese and Chicken and Pork Dumplings – both were great. The Goats Cheese went perfectly with the mashed potatoes, and the sauce for the Dumplings was flavourful. For mains, we got the Grilled New Zealand Lamb Rack, Grouper Thai Curry, Stir Fried Vegetables and Prik King Shrimp. The lamb we kind of got partly for the NZ meat – so badly missing that and also a bit of a change to the other dishes. It was really tender – I asked for it to be made medium rare – it was perfect. The Grouper Thai Curry was good too, the fish was slightly crispy and the curry sauce was tasty. The Stir Fried Vegetables was an unnecessary addition, firstly because we couldn’t finish it and had to take it home, but secondly, it’s just stir fried veges – yes it was good but I’d go for something else next time. The Prik King Shrimp was great too and comes in a pineapple – nice presentation touch. As it was a birthday – and I had mentioned this when I booked the place, they brought out a complimentary Tiramisu cake and a candle – which was a lovely touch. The cake was yum too. Overall it was a great experience and really good food, we all enjoyed it. Good fusion places are hard to come by – will definitely be back here again soon!
