Rico’s World Kitchen

Was in the area saw the reviews for this place were really high.  So, expecting greatness, stopped here and there was a bit of a wait – around half hour to 45 mins.  The ladies at the front were nice, ordered a wine & beer while we waited to be seated.

Once we got a table, placed an order for Nett’s Lumpia ($5.50), Cajun BBQ Mussels ($12), Firecracker Shrimp ($12) and one of the specials.  It was quite busy so the food did take some time.  The Cajun BBQ Mussels was probably the most decent out of all the dishes.  The Firecracker Shrimp was ok and the special, I can’t remember the name but it was a Steak dish, was very bland.  Overall it was really average, the waiting staff were completely blank and not very friendly, I get it’s busy but the vibe was not very welcoming in the restaurant area and couldn’t wait to get out of there.  I just don’t understand the high rating here, it’s really not much of a ‘world kitchen’.
